Appeal to younger adults to get double vaccinated


Devon’s claim to date that case rates in the county are below the England national average is no longer possible.

Case rates over the last few weeks in Devon are the highest they have been since the start of the pandemic, with cases in Exeter among the highest in the country.

Cases are predominantly in children and younger adults, with the highest case rates in those aged 16 to 24 year olds. With this in mind, Devon’s Deputy Director of Public Health, Tina Henry, has appealed to younger adults to get double vaccinated.
