We have developed the Children and Young Peoples Plan from the things that staff, parents and children have told us are important. We are now checking we have got this right.
Devon County Council is funding improvements to SEND provision in schools. They have published the SEN plans and how they decided to spend the money.
Ofsted “left with a clear sense of the key milestones in the local authority’s improvement journey, the challenges that remain, and plans for future improvement.”
Devon County Council’s deputy leader and Cabinet member for schools, James McInnes, has written to Education Secretary Damian Hinds on behalf of all the political parties on the council calling for more money for education.
All of the services supporting children and young people with SEND were inspected in December 2018.As a result, the Local Authority and NHS Devon were asked to make improvements. A Draft Written Statement of Action has been prepared to show how we will make these improvements.
In Jo Olsson’s letter, she affirms the commitment of partners to continue the programme of improvement, which Inspectors confirmed was on the right track.
