Important information : This training is now in 2 parts on 2 separate days of the same month. Please book both dates (in the same month) to qualify for your certificate.

This course 13th July 9:00am – 1:00pm & 23rd July 2020 9:00am – 10:30am please book a place on both dates.

Target Group:
Members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents and carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns e.g. paediatricians, GPs, midwives, school nurses, nurses, health visitors, residential staff, teachers, youth workers, probation staff, sports club welfare offices, those working with adults in, for example, learning disability, mental health, alcohol and drug misuse services and the police.

Training Objectives:
At the end of the session delegates will be able to:
· Understand the concept of risk and its manifestations, including in the virtual world
· Talk to young people and parents confidently about risk and risk taking behaviour
· Know what agencies are available to support young people and the referral pathways
· Have an empathy with young people and their views of risk which empowers them to make considered decisions about the risk in their lives
