Lindsey Taylor will deliver free Gambling and Online Gaming Awareness training to organisations in the South West as part of the UK’s Young People’s Gambling Harm Prevention Programme. She has been running sessions for Cornwall Council Children & Family Services since last year .

Session options

You can choose any of the below as a joint session delivered by the Vulnerable Women’s Officer and myself, to cover women, adult and young people’s gambling –

  1. Gambling & Online Gaming Awareness – Guest speaker talk at your team or board meetings
  • Short awareness talk- 15 minutes to 30 minutes online

  1. Gambling & Online Gaming Awareness – CPD Accredited Training and certificate
  • 1 hour
  • 1.5 hours
  • 3 hours

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify the Warning Signs and impacts of a gambling problem
  • Interact with someone about problem gambling and screen for it
  • Talk about online gaming and gambling
  • Refer adults to the free counselling service in the South West
  • Refer Young People to the Young People Support Service

I’m sure you are aware that recent figures show that 11% (350,000) of young people gamble and there are now 61,000 young people who are classified as Problem Gamblers in the UK – this is having a significant impact on some young people’s mental health and becoming an ever increasing welfare / safeguarding issue. I also cover the connection with online gaming and gambling, and Loot Boxes/Crates. Of the adult population, an estimated 5 million people are affected by gambling harms.

Please give Lindsey a call or email if you have any questions, or would like to book sessions
