The University of Plymouth
This is the second year we have run the South West PBS Event hosted by the University of Plymouth.
This is a free event open to families, health, social care and education professionals working and
residing in Devon, Plymouth and Torbay. This event has been set up to form part of our Community of
Practice to provide access to information, guidance, training and share best practice. This event will
provide you with the opportunity to listen to our guest speakers and to take part in PBS workshops.
We are pleased to announce our guest speakers:
Dr Sandy Toogood (Bangor University)
Tony Osgood (Tizard Lecturer, retired)
Dr Corinna Grindle (BCBA-D, Warwick University)
Tom Evans (BILD – British Institute of Learning Disabilities)
Dr Helen Lloyd (Clinical Psychologist, Psychology Associates)
Workshops will cover:
Trauma informed services, Active Support, PBS Assessment, Reducing
and reviewing restrictive practice, Individual Service Designs and building resilience and mindfulness in
direct carers (family and paid support).

person, due to workshop allocation we cannot accept block bookings. Priority will be given to delegates
residing in Devon, Plymouth and Torbay. If you reside outside of these areas please contact
