The Way We Talk
Exploring the link between speech, language and communication needs and social and emotional disadvantage, that has been exacerbated by the impact of Covid-19.
What is speech, language and communication?
What needs do young people have in these areas?
How does the wider social and emotional context exacerbate these needs?
How do we recognise and support young people who have these needs?
How can this help to lower anxiety and low mood?
Breaking the link between speech, language and communication needs and disadvantage, exacerbated by Covid-19, to improve relationships, resilience, social, emotional, mental health and life chances.
You are invited to attend a workshop to address these questions and to consider your own experiences and those of young people you know. You will leave with a raised awareness of how the way we talk can change how young people think about themselves and their environment for the better and can improve life outcomes.
There is a lot in a word!
