Community Care is delighted to be hosting this invaluable webinar, brought to you by Surrey County Council:

Child and adolescent to parent violence and abuse (CAPVA) has gained increasing prominence over recent years within social work, but remains an under-recognised issue, for which many families are left unsupported.

This webinar will help practitioners improve their understanding of CAPVA to better equip them to support families and young people in practice and will focus on:

  • Existing policy and practice and examine how we can improve support for families and young people
  • How services are being delivered on the ground for young people using violence
  • The impact of the YUVA project, using case studies to identify best practice with families affected by CAPVA

Speakers:

Dr Elizabeth McCloud – senior practitioner, youth offending team and criminal justice researcher, Surrey County Council

Erin Shanks – senior practitioner, Young People Using Violence and Abuse (YUVA) project, Domestic Violence Intervention Project, Richmond Fellowship

Catarina Sousa – domestic abuse (south) area manager, Richmond Fellowship
