Event Description:
To develop an understanding of domestic abuse and its different forms in order to facilitate early intervention and effective support interventions.
Aims/Objectives:
• Through studying real life case studies, participants will be better able to identify, and under-stand, the impact of domestic abuse on children, young people and their families.
• For participants to gain effective ways of communicating, intervening and supporting children, with a particular focus on ‘difficult conversations’ and narratives in the context of domestic abuse.
Outcomes:
• Those attending the course to gain potential ways of increasing and developing support for school-based staff in their individual settings.
There is a cost of £90 to attend this training, however places are funded for police, children’s services and health staff to attend.
