Scam Awareness Fortnight

Scam Awareness Fortnight is taking place this week and next week, and raising awareness is particularly important at this point in time.

The event – taking place from Monday 15 to Friday 26 June – comes at a time when Citizens Advice have reported that almost one in three people have been contacted by a scammer since the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak began. As such, this year’s focus will be on scams that have emerged as a result of the pandemic.

Citizens Advice has developed some useful resources to raise awareness of these scams. You can find resources to help raise awareness and promote the campaign on the Citizens Advice website. The website has a range of online and print resources that you can download, print or request.

Help us spread the message that scams are crimes that can happen to anyone and that we can all take a stand to help stop them. There are actions we can all take to report them, share stories and raise awareness of scams to safeguard ourselves and others.
